Sorry anyone waiting for a TDK Epilogue page. I thought maybe I'd at least drop you guys some crap that's in my sketchbook. The stuff on the left are parts of definite pieces I'm doing. Some take place in Epilogue times. Some take place during the Occupation of Gotham (while Bruce was in the pit) The stuff on the right is me trying to work out Killer Croc, Red Hood, Riddler, and Penguin. As you can see, none of them are all that spectacular since they are in mid-process what each one will look like, ultimately. A lot of people throw me a lot of great ideas.. but if I can't work them out aesthetically, then it's hard for me to move forward. Some notes on them..
Killer Croc - I'm a fan of what Croc looked like in Azzarello's Joker Graphic novel. And although I made his skin condition way more pox-like, it's still a little too similar. Red Hood - I imagine him wearing some kind of modified motorcycle helmet. Nice and simple. Riddler - Still have the williamsburg version in my mind. But this is way too Walter White. I'm close to getting a good design for him. Penguin - Trying to get away from the Arkham City design because I love it so frickin much. And unfortunately, not happy with anything I come up with. I DO know I have an idea for his monocle. It's a high-tech Jeweler's loop that analyzes and records shit. That's the only aspect I know I'm keeping. Everything else might look way different next time around.
Jason Todd/Red Hood During the first year of the time batman went missing, he went to another city to go find himself. During this time he met a young boy, the age of 14, stealing rim cars. The boy's name was Jason Todd, who currently lived with his drunk uncle who had a gambling addiction. Bruce looks at the boy and decides to try to save him from a life of crime. He trains him mentally and physically, for the next year as he becomes a masked a vigilante. But tragedy reaches the bats. A group of thugs working for the joker secretly captured the boy (not knowing that he was a vigilante) and torture him to frighten his uncle to pay the money he owes them. They beat Jason with bats, and especially the crowbar. Pronounced dead, Bruce leaves the city. 8 years toward the future, Jason who is much alive pursues Bruce and reaches his manor. There he finds the door opened and abandoned. He goes in. He mistakenly finds the batcave and sees an old bat suit without a cowl. Jason decides to take it, and leave without a trace. There he will become his own name. His own legend as the Red Hood.
I have a suggestion for if or when you do Jason Todd. I was thinking that before Blake, like when the events of the Dark Knight was still ongoing, he was a detective working under Gordon's wing, much like Blake was in TDKR, but when a police stakeout was occuring looking for the Joker, Todd has him cornered as he's pointing a gun at him and Joker had just killed a woman with his blade. Joker turns to him, starts stalling then when he has the advantage Joker takes a surprise attack to Todd while bludgening him to death with a crowbar. And as for the events after that, that's where I got stumped but I hope that you liked my little mini bio and that you take it to heart.
Don't give up on doing Penguin. I find that you drew him to look much younger. Maybe he could have a disease that actually stunts his growth AND appearance. You are definately not copying arkham city. The monacle looks great too.
I love your series by the way. But if you are going to killer croc, would you consider Gotham Knight the animated interquel between begins and the dark knight canon? Because its actual place in the nolanverse is quite murky.
